New Year's Eve a lovely dinner
with friends and one foe
a darling host - a daring lady
with the others - hum ho
We ate and drank delightedly
food-wine-the faces glowed
our host cooked a reindeer
Rudolph tasted -chapeau
to the cook and much more
we ate with a healthy gusto
His wine was just superb
it just kept on - a flow
of friendship and delight
