Honor killing

Honor is seen in conjunction
with  sexuality
fidelity or virginity.

Mostly men impose
this on women in societies
where men rule supreme.

The women will be killed
stoned, maimed to save
the "honor" of the men.

I spit on that notion.

Philo-sagesse

Vivre et mourir
est l'exsistentiel
entretemps
manger, dormir
aimer
ne passe pas
le temps d'hainer
trop difficile
et trop de rides
dans une visage.
Pour l'amour
et le rire fou
on reste jeune.

Bernie

An older great generation's gent
With a theatrical righteous bent
A second wife of fifty some years
Set sail into the sunset - the tears
Were Bernie's and  as an afterthought
Life without Dottie is all for naught.
The last year he did battle with health
his breathing did not move well by stealth.
In a varied judicial sway
Fairness for his clients through the law
Fighting and advising  civilly
To  the end - he blasted on Broadway
When his ghost gave way to evermore
surrender - life's gone bunk vividly.

Blues of November

Running raggedly
over terror and death
truly shows the mood
of November
whether it is sun or rain
the droplets of blood
stain the sidewalks
in November
the ninth month
of the Roman calendar
darkness approaches
in our hemisphere
alas November.

Paris blues again

Plague
Anger
Rage

Shit
is not Paris

Serene
Inspire
Reason
Amour
Pleasure
Is what  Paris is to me

Death and the wind

The wind blows - goes
away into the realm
of fantasy
that's where
it feels at home
with gnomes
witches of yore
a childhood vague dream
of beauty and non-judging
that is how I see
death.

wow mom

Grayish morn
nothing but
grocery shopping
wow

Life in suburbs
exciting but
mindless
mom

except
expectations
humor me
mom wow

All hallow'sand Day

Hallows - the four elements
earth fire water air
and the souls contain
swords wands pentacles and cups
and this year is particularly sharp
there are so many
have gone through life and died
In January A Norwegian
February An American
April a Dane
May A Dane
June An American
July An Englishman
October A Dane
knowingly getting up there
but still and the years ain't over yet
so tonight I send all my wishes
to those who are gone
born of water
we are earthly and burn to keep warm
and the fire will turn to ashes and air.
