Shoulds coulds woulds
all words tempting the
my bad conscience
I should clean, for instance,
I really do not feel like it.
I could go for a walk,
more likely.
I would like for somebody
to turn up on my doorstep
with a genie and then finish
whatever I was struggling with,
not going to happen either!
So shoulds woulds coulds
go away for now today
and let me live in peace
but tomorrow you may turn
up again for all I care,
although you are coming
nagging me in the night.
My coulds, woulds and shoulds
be with me anyway now
you always will until
the end of my days!
