Old voices from way back when
are soothing, sometimes bothersome
because they know you inside out
you cannot hide
you can only acquiesce
they will know if you fake it
those old voices who know
will immediately find out
if you have a new lover
if you are hurting
if you are smiling
if you are screaming bloody hell
if your time is up
and yourself is down
and you know them too!
