Torn
between
two
worlds ;
a new
an old
where
is
my
poor
wreathing
and
split
soul ?

"Where'er your treasure is,
That's where your heart will be."
A hard thing to decide--
A treasure you can see?
Or something out of sight,
Remaining undefined,
Although it draws you on
Refusing peace of mind--
Sometimes just out of reach,
Or hidden dark and deep,
A mem'ry you can't place,
Glimpsed on the edge of sleep?
You sense it when it's near,
You miss it when it's gone,
It comes to you in dreams,
And steals away with dawn.
Old fables always tell
Of pow'r within a name,
For Rumpelstiltskin's trick
Is more than just a game.
The essence of the thing
Within its name lies still,
A game of hide and seek
Tormenting us until
We pinpoint where it is,
We tear the veils apart,
We learn our treasure's name,
And there we find our heart.
