The US and who else?
Poland or Greece,
Turkey, Saudi Arabia?
Russia and China are buying!
Who is flirting with
autocracy or strongmen?
Brazil, and the rest?
Dangerous tendencies
Of mediocrity and fear
And not to be despised
Human stupidity and angst
The bystander’s effect.
Poor democracy and its price
For freedom now is
Complacently too low!
