An older great generation's gent
With a theatrical righteous bent
A second wife of fifty some years
Set sail into the sunset - the tears
Were Bernie's and as an afterthought
Life without Dottie is all for naught.
The last year he did battle with health
his breathing did not move well by stealth.
In a varied judicial sway
Fairness for his clients through the law
Fighting and advising civilly
To the end - he blasted on Broadway
When his ghost gave way to evermore
surrender - life's gone bunk vividly.
