You Tube in the background
an old fogey in the foreground
listening to her favorites
of opera's foremost vocalist
and stealing more than a peek
what to do on a cool dull Sunday
in suburbia after a long week?
In olden days we played cards
we knitted we dug in our yards
we had tea with cakes we wrote
letters to friends and foe
life intertwined another way
it bore a twinkle of yester sound
from the highest to the ground
yet, times are changing
and time is a changeling....

From his storeroom, the wise Scribe
Old and new comingled brings.
If his wisdom we imbibe,
There are surely many things
Sunday leisure hours to fill
With the best of old and new
If you have some time to kill
And need something fun to do.
Watching DVDs with Bill,
I have knitted mufflers three;
The electric crockpot will
From dull stirring set me free
While the apple butter stews
And I write this verse online,
Rather than in curlicues
With a quill and ink so fine,
To a very modern Muse!
