Eve's daughters

Why don't all women
adhere to these few steps
decide for
yourself
your body
your beliefs
your politics
your rights
and then whoever you
want to love.
Somehow it is simple
a la Hillary Clinton
and wishing it were so.
Instead we have
attacks on our bodies
every day in every way
our beliefs are belittled
our rights and political views
are being ridiculed
discredited, slammed!!!
Will all Eve's daughters
subscribe to Aristophanes's
"poison pen" and rebel?
Not in my lifetime nor
in my daughter's but
someday - in Utopia!

How we evolve

Little children run around
in their house
checking their boundaries
where they can flip
here they can flop
and in that corner
they can become silent
resting for a nanosecond
The teens of the world
in their way
promoting their borders
where they can drip
here they can drop
and in that area
they will become enraged
doubting their sanity
The adults alas at last
tiptoe hesitantly
knowing their worth
what they can buy
what they can sell
and consequently
they will erupt furiously
only to create tuck-of wars.

Freezing chill

Somehow today
freezing in my soul
embraces not
the wanton warmth.
Will my body regain
its healthy heat
or will I until my
secure demise
encapsulate coldness
without a fight?
Unthawing ensures
my inner world
slowly linking it to
a standstill - chillingly
crispiness embodies
only one thought
a sad picture of
a woman giving up.
How many a lady
have experienced
that iciness -
to only discern
the gelidity in her?
Sleep - sleep - sleep.

World according to Yanko Tsvetkov

The Russians drink
The French stink
Brits are highbrow
Germans eat 'krauts
Italians devore spaghetti
Greeks dance sweaty
when it comes to names
what a fun game
to label is to fear
ignorance - no cheer
thanks to Tsvetkov
piercing a sacred cow!

Silly Easter rhyme

What eats the Easter Bunny
hopping out onto the lawn
it was a misty early
Sunday on Easter morn.
He picked up the eggs
from where they were
all colors abound lightened
fuchsia, greenish azure.
He wondered how many
he would surely eat
remembering years past
tummy ache. To beat
it he swore he wouldn't
do that ever for years
so he reput the eggs down
smilingly  he was cured.
Let the boy and girls
get their eggs instead of me
he hipped and hopped
and stroked his goatee.

For my grandsons

Vivat homo

I find the solutions
on the net
clumsiness abound
to save yet
my inadequacy
surely let
my better half
do the set.
And for that reason
I thee wed.

Enigma

Enigma of world war 2
began long before
coding and decoding
became vital to all
those whose machine
it belonged to
and those who won -
alas too many died
but more would have
had the machine
kept its secrets forever.

Nothing but dust

Nero's Domus Aurea
created a new form
even though erased
"damnatio memoriae"
from the Fori Romani -
a trace of it was found
in Titus monument
for Vespasian his father.
Nothing but a dance macabre
at my funeral pyre
only the dirt on a little
road in the middle of the vinyards
will hail my aging bones
and the rest will be at sea
with Poseidon's creatures
leaving a new spawn of frogs.

Monday to Sunday children

Monday's child is far away
Tuesday's child will go astray
Wednesday's child thinks so much
Thurday's child runs amok
Friday's child will dance and sing
Saturday's child will wildly swim
Sunday's child is a wherewithal
but you've gotta love them all.

A.nswer to a nursery rhyme.

Sour morn

This will surely pass -
full sunshine blossoms
if you're in flotsam
without reason to,
nature's calling you
a thankless badass!

Challenged haiku

A ring lost in Rhine
Gods, earthlings loved fought entwined
saved doomed reassigned

Some like it ---

Some like it like this
others like it like that
again another likes it comme ci
and I like it comme cela
but the whole world
fucks around each other
I wonder why we bother
the sex drive is strong
but power is stronger
so if you play the game of sex
it is all about power!

Being of nothing

A something about nothing
remembering the time
the poetess had
a word breakdown
nothing meant everything
anyone exclaimed.
A nihilistic period of
about four years straight.
Two things happened
a teacher put the mind right
plus mother's dictum
"words can hurt".

Meeting a neighbor who
talked about an experience of hers.
She was hurt by words

Hommage a Dorothy Parker

Women delight in novelty
Men die without stability
Love for the female is fun
Men die without a homerun
A Woman lives within herself
A man will jerk off himself
Two sexes in eternal battle
so what to do with the cattle?

Romantic literature

Reading romantic novels
a new discipline in college courses
sounds like a winner.
The heroine changes from
a rebel to an learned lady
between a dinner
with the champion of her choice
and lust and love combines
the author's spinner.
Whatever powers women
to read and enjoy escapes
commends a glimmer.

The McDaniels college announces
a new discipline.

Tidal Geishas

Pale cherry-filled iridescent
embroidered silk kimonos
gheishas shade tall auras
in the telluric Tidal Basin.

Dorothy Parker remembered

Dorothy Parker's poems
hit just between the eyeballs
many prompt prima phonemes
of whisky sours and highballs.

Thanks to Steve for reminding me
of a grand lady

Stress test

A nuclear stress
applied to me
by a medical toy
I shall be "blinking"
if going through
a"security machine"
for thirty days
a truly ravine
of heart's digress.
The worst was not
the thread mill -
but the time where
the arms had to
be held over my head
of course lying down
but still a bloody
awful situation - dead.
Twice keeping still
while machines
worked their will
to try and dissect
my machine's rhythm
and after a day of blues
a solidly sobering
somewhere's why and how
the doc will decide
whether or not I
shall live or die.
Not that I mind
and for modern medicine
I am inclined
to say eventually
stop it once somehow?

Equinox

Spring again
and jump high
stop the time
a beautiful lie
of need to be
wherever
a life stopped
forever.
Nobody can
avoid the toc
of the seasons'
running clock
arrest your steps
for just a moment
and inhale the
flowers unbent
with life's spring
and jubilant joy
this hour is but
an ephemeral toy.

Quiet

Quiet
quietly
beware
of the quiet ones
one day
they may not be
so quiet.
